The Native Plant Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Washington State University Consolidated Information Center (library) in Room 210.

Featured speaker is WNPS member Traci Degerman of Richland. She'll talk about her experiences as a seasonal employee with the ecological restoration program at Mount Rainier National Park, "Triage Gardening: Native Plant Restoration at Mount Rainier National Park."

Degerman has worked for the park since 2005, recently completing her 2007 term as a restoration planner for the park's flood repair efforts. She'll discuss the 1996 flood in Mount Rainier National Park and the actions taken in response to them. Degerman also will describe the park's native plant propagation and restoration program and present some issues for group discussion.
