By the Herald staff The Native Plant Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Washington State University Consolidated Information Center (library) in Room 210. Featured speaker is WNPS member Traci Degerman of Richland. She'll talk about her experiences as a seasonal employee with the ecological restoration program at Mount Rainier National Park, "Triage Gardening: Native Plant Restoration at Mount Rainier National Park." Degerman has worked for the park since 2005, recently completing her 2007 term as a restoration planner for the park's flood repair efforts. She'll discuss the 1996 flood in Mount Rainier National Park and the actions taken in response to them.
