Interested in cutting your electric bill by letting the sun heat your pool and the hot water in your home? Tired of paying more and more just to gas up your vehicle? If so, plan to attend the 2007 Alternative Energy Expo & Electrathon on Friday and April 28 at Columbia Basin College in Pasco. The Expo, held by Franklin PUD and CBC, will feature vendors offering a variety of hardware and information on alternative energy sources, speakers and hands-on exhibits for adults and youths. Friday, the Expo will mainly targeting groups of students from Tri-City schools but the exhibits are open to the public. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, additional vendors will attend the Expo and there will be more hands-on exhibits. Several speakers will discuss a variety of alternative energy topics throughout the day. Electrathon America, an endurance race involving electric cars, will begin at about noon.
